Imagine the thrill of owning a complete newspaper that was actually printed on your birthdate, anniversary date, or other special day. Our Historic Newspapers are not just front pages, simulations, or reproductions. They are actual and complete archival editions of USA newspapers from 1880 to the present.

Each well-preserved newspaper is packaged in a clear vinyl showcase accompanied by a registered Certificate of Authenticity signed by antiquarian newspaper experts. Give as a unique gift for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and other milestones.

The newspapers in the archives are from cities in the USA and will contain the world news for your date (sorry, we do not have non-USA newspapers). Saturday and Sunday editions have main news sections only. Some dates may not be available, and we will notify you if your date cannot be filled. Enter your date using the format month, date, year (example: September, 15, 1950).

We can not accept requests for specific cities or newspapers (except when you use our search service; see details below) and we will automatically remove any such requests from your order. In addition, since these are actual old newspapers, dates can become depleted. If we are informed by the archive that your order can not be filled you will be offered the option to purchase a reproduction. Please note many original newspaper dates pre-1940 are depleted.

Q: Can you tell me if the newspaper is available before I order?
A: No.
Q: Can I order a specific newspaper such as The New York Times or a specific city or state
A: No.
Q: Why not?
A: Because of the scarcity of old newspapers, only very small quantities remain, and they become smaller each day. As a result it's no longer practical to handle individual requests like we did in the 1990's. However, all of the newspapers are major newspapers containing national news of the day and no matter which newspaper you receive your gift recipient will love receiving a paper from the date of their birth or other special event.
Q: What if the date I've ordered is not available?
A: We will offer you the option of receiving a reproduction newspaper or a refund. We have reproductions of The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and The Dallas Morning News.
