2026 NEC Emergency Disconnect & Service Disconnect Labels

Durable engraved electrical disconnect labels for applications addressed by 2026 NEC 230.70(B). Choose EMERGENCY DISCONNECT for the outside-front enclosure marking for one- and two-family dwellings, or SERVICE DISCONNECT for identification on or adjacent to the service disconnect. Labels measure 3.5 x 1.5 inch and have a red background with permanently engraved white characters at least 1/2 inch high. Made from UV-stabilized, non-rusting, 1/32 inch laminated acrylic plastic. No inks are used; the lettering is not painted or printed.

• Service Disconnect: SERVICE DISCONNECT - 3.5 x 1.5 inch with red background and permanently engraved white characters at least 1/2 inch high. The 1/2 inch character height is our standard for this label and is not specified by 2026 NEC 230.70(B)(1); if you would like a different size or color please contact us.
• Made from durable, UV-stabilized, non-rusting, 1/32 inch laminated acrylic plastic.
• Characters are permanently engraved. No inks are used; not painted or printed.
• Weather-resisting 3M adhesive back for easy peel-and-stick installation. Clean the mounting surface, peel off the backing, and apply.

Important: Not all states and local jurisdictions have adopted the 2026 NEC. Some jurisdictions may still follow the 2023 NEC or an earlier edition, with or without local amendments. The 2026 NEC requires SERVICE DISCONNECT identification on or adjacent to the service disconnect. For one- and two-family dwellings, the outside front of the disconnect enclosure is also marked EMERGENCY DISCONNECT with a red background, white text, and letters at least 1/2 inch high. Other sizes and colors may not satisfy the requirements applicable to a particular installation. Verify the NEC edition in effect and all required wording, placement, dimensions, mounting, and other requirements with your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) before ordering or installing.
