Low Voltage Electric Blanket without Bulky Wires - - SoftHeat electric blanket from Perfect Fit Industries and available at Comfort House (formerly known as the Chattam & Wells low voltage electric blanket). Until now all UL-listed electric blankets in North America have operated at 120 volts. This blanket, however, operates with non-hazardous low voltage, providing you with the safest electric blanket ever produced. So turn down your thermostat and still stay toasty warm.

Unlike other warming blankets, new low-voltage blanket includes a power supply box that changes 120 volt AC current (normal household current in North America) into non-hazardous low voltage DC current (similar to a battery) to assure that the blanket never causes you an electric shock.

Power supply box is approximately 8.625"L x 2.5"D x 3"H. The most convenient location for the box is normally on the floor close to the head of the bed. Correct placement of power supply box and bedside control unit.

In addition to being safe, the low-voltage electric blanket is exceptionally soft, cozy, and comfortable. Lightweight, textured microfleece runs from top to toe, and the thin wires are virtually unnoticeable. And the luxurious micro-fleece blanket is so attractive that you'll want to use it all year. For warm weather use, just store the controls.

  • Automatic preheat feature warms to your dial setting in about 15 minutes. Delivers consistent and even heat distribution all night long.
  • However, neither your blanket nor bed will feel hot to the touch. Low voltage blankets produce enough heat to keep you warm and comfortable while you sleep. They are not designed to produce enough heat to make the bed hot. We suggest you spend several days experimenting with the settings until you find your personal comfort level.
  • Automatic shutoff after 10 hours.
  • Luxuriate in gentle, all-over, consistent warmth - - no hot or cold spots.
  • Lighted, simple-to-use controller has large, easy-to-read numbers and on/off switch. Settings range is LO, 1-9, HI. Silent, no-click operation; non-slip back.
  • Machine wash; tumble dry.

Excellent quality blanket fabric and electronic controls. Plug in connectors at the bottom of the blanket are sturdy and secure. Heats evenly down to your toes. I wish it came in colors other than white.

Best electric blanket on the market. We have used electric blankets for 40 maybe 50 years. My Mother requires hers even when we are in the tropics (because of air conditioning or cool breezes). The one I just bought was to take to the Virgin Islands. Macy\'s used to sell this brand. Don\'t know why they stopped. The soft heat makes for supreme comfort. No annoying clicking sounds as it maintains the temperature setting. No bulky wires. Soft, quality blanket fabric that does not \'catch\' when touched the way inferior fabrics do. I probably have bought 15 or 20 of these blankets and hope they never go off the market. I was delighted to find them at Comfort House.

On our fourth blanket, and we love it. They last about 2.5-3 years before one half stops working -- but we normally have ours on about 12 hours/day year-round, so we feel like we get our money's worth. Love how lightweight it is, and that you can't feel the wiring. Those traditional electric blankets always scared me.

I bought this electric blanket because of the ratings and reviews. We have used electric blankets for 10+ years to warm the beds before going to sleep. Typically we turn the blankets on 10-15 minutes before going to bed. Not enough time for the SoftHeat Blanket. Soft Heat needed about an hour on high to get the bed to "warm." Yes, this blanket may be the safest on the market but I will not be buying another. I have never had an electrical problem with less safe blankets that heated up quicker and better. Took too long to warm up.

I am very impressed with this blanket! It heats up very fast for me so don't know what other posts are talking about as being slow to heat. Also number 2 on the heat level is as far as I've needed to go. The controllers are a little cheesy but are simple and probably more reliable than the fancy electronic ones. We have a queen size bed but I bought a king size blanket just in case they were a little small, but turns out a queen size would have been a better choice. BTW, its -5 degrees today with a wind-chill of -25
Its true that you can't hardly feel the wires and the blanket is thick enough that its pretty warm without the electric side functioning.

The low voltage electric blanket are truly WONDERFUL. Over the past several years we have purchased four of them for our use in different locations. Comfort House is our dependable source. These are the only electric blanket we would EVER use. The only shame is that the voltage adapter is not 110v/240v, like EVERY computer adapter. That way we could take them with us when traveling to Europe.

I don't usually give a 5 star rating unless I'm absolutely sure that the product will last. I had not used my SoftHeat Low voltage electric blanket but a few time so I'm basing this on just about a week of use. The blanket is so warm even without turning it on, a double layer of softness,it is really warm we did not need it until this past few weeks. It seems to take a long time to warm up but once the bed is warm so far we've been able to turn it off and comfortable sleep all night. We've only had a couple of nights that it got to about 29 degrees and on those nights it was turned down to about 4 for the rest of the night. I think it will be such a comfort to me as I get really cold sometimes when sleeping. I think it will work great for us. It's not a small price but well worth it if it lasts a good long time. I am hoping that it will!

I have been using either electric blankets, throws or mattress covers for several years. When it was time to purchase another, I researched on line which would be best, and discovered Softheat. I was not disappointed. It is, by far, the best I have ever had. It is soft and comfortable. It molds to the body instead of laying on top. You can barely tell there are wires. I love it!!

Living in my grandparents farmhouse (circa 1874) on the coast of Maine the winter nights are cold. But this blanket is both soft and evenly warm and comfortable. The low voltage aspect gives me a sense of safety when plugged in. Great find & will look here again & recommend to others.

I had purchased a regular electric blanket by Sunbeam at Costco, but the fleece appeared very cheap and, of course, the wires were very prominent. In reading reviews at Amazon, someone mentioned the low voltage type of blanket, of which I'd never heard. I found the one on the Comfort House site and, although it was more expensive than the Costco one, it has been worth every penny! It's beautiful, soft and just looks and feels so much nicer than the regular type. You would hardly know there were wires in it! The ivory color is lovely and it heats as well as any electric blanket we've ever had. I like the health benefit of the lower voltage, although we normally use it to preheat the bed and then turn it off. I'm so happy that we purchased this blanket!!! The ordering and shipping went exactly as expected and I would definitely endorse Comfort House.

This is the third time I bought this blanket. It's attractive and works well. It's not hot to the touch, and it's best to turn it on ahead of going to bed. But when it warms up it keeps me warm in cold Chicago winters. Plus, I like putting less electricity around my body. I would also note that it is a little smaller in size than a normal blanket.

This blanket brings back fond memories of when I used an electric blanket as a child, before the AC magnetic field worries came to light. Now, since this blanket uses DC current, I don't worry about using it, and can enjoy the toasty feeling on cold nights once again. It is extra soft as well. I am well pleased.

I love my new Safe n Warm heating blanket! I can sleep with it on the 2 setting all night and my heart doesn't react by aching like it did if I tried to sleep with a conventional heating blanket. I used my conventional blanket simply to preheat the bed and then had to turn it off. Now I am warm and healthy. And I put it on high if I want to preheat my bed.

I researched low-voltage electric blankets and felt this was the best value. We've had them for about 2 months and so far so good. I use them for our children so the low-voltage aspect was very important. I have a feeling that this is a generic brand of a higher end model because the controller is the same as some more expensive models... Not sure about that though.

The best thing about this blanket is that it warms up instantly and the degree of heat is easy to adjust noiselessly. The only comments I have which would improve the product is to make the on/off switch noise-free and to somehow decrease the blanket weight; otherwise, we're very happy with your product.

I looked all over the web to find a heated blanket not made out of polyester fleece. I saw this same blanket advertised for almost twice the price, so I thought I'd try it from Comfort House. It had pretty even heat but I just don't like the feel of fleece, even though there was a sheet above it.

Was the only brand I knew. Decided to take a chance on something new and I am glad I did. This is the best blanket ever. They say none of them really heat up very hot but this one is perfect. Don't know why you would need it any hotter unless you just wanted runs on purpose. So soft and cuddly. Just the right temperature. I will never buy a different brand, (unless they do something silly like change the produce and make me not like it). The only drawback is the cord to plug in is too short. I fixed that with a heavy duty extension cord. Other than that it is perfect. You will love it. I bought the king. I love the separate controls.

This blanket is great! The king size has separate controls for each side. You don't feel the wires in the blanket like you would on the cheaper ones. It operates on low voltage DC rather than 120V AC making it a safer choice. We had this same blanket for about 6 years and it stopped working, but we liked it so much we decided to get the same one again.

Purchased this blanket last year for my youngest daughter and she loves it. Material is very soft and snuggly. Her older sister "borrowed" the blanket so I had to purchase another one this year. Now both are sleeping warm and comfy. A definite must purchase if you need an electric blanket. Love that there are no heavy coils, it washes up beautifully, and material is very soft. I searched many websites and read lots of reviews on blankets before making this purchase. You won't be disappointed.

Hands down, this blanket sets the standard for all electric blankets. Even thought the blankedt is light, soft, comfortable a person would have to buy just for the two low voltage independent double outlet controls on the king size blanket. A must buy.

We've had several heating/electric blankets over the years and I can honestly say this one is T-H-E BEST! The blanket itself is sooooooooo soft and it feels like velvet. There are no wires or cables or anything like other heating blankets. The winters are so cold in Michigan, I can't do without it. It heats up so well, I took the regular blanket off the bed and it's just covered with a lightweight quilt. Would definitely tell anyone reading this......do not hesitate.......buy it.

This is my second heating blanket of the same style, just different sizes, from Comfort House. It's an amazingly efficient blanket and durable. A must for anyone who likes a toasty bed when they crawl in at night. Also want to mention, the king size blanket I got this year came with 2 faulty controls. Comfort House provided replacement controls in less than a week with no hassle. That's Customer Service!!

I had my doubt that this electric blanket could be as good as other people say. Still, I ordered it any way and now all I can say is that it's fantastic! It performs well even though it uses so much less electricity than other blankets. I also really appreciate its aesthetic value. It's a very attractive buttery yellow in colour, soft, and as hard as I've tried I can see or feel any internal wires. It was very easy to put on and I'm absolutely delighted with it.

Bought a twin and a full blanket for persons who were using extra blankets at the foot of the bed to warm their feet. They now use a down alternative blanket with the electric blanket on top and one folded blanket on their feet. They fall asleep faster and are less restless trying to keep their feet warm.

I have ordered two of these blankets in queen size for our family. They are light weight but SO incredibly warm and comfortable and heat the bed evenly all over. I have never had cold feet since using these blankets. There is nothing I dislike about this blanket. The natural color is very pretty. They are so superior over any other brand of electric blanket I have ever used.

Over the years I went thru lots of electric blankets here in Michigan during the winter, but this one's the best by far! As October started to chill the weather the achey pains began to wake me when I went to sleep after a few hours to the point I'd wake up crying. I first got a El-THrow from ur site and I loved it, but that was fine for the daytime, then got the full sized blanket for the nightime and I sleep thru the entire night minus those achey pains. It is so soft, its hard to believe there are wires running thru it, the blanket is so comfy even w/out heat...I simply love them!

We love this warming blanket! My wife was sceptical about the whole idea of an electric blanket, but with its dual controls and gentle warming profile, she has come to love it as much as I do. I had always shied away from an electric blanket because of the magnetic field and fear of the high voltage shorting out. As we live in the desert it can get very cold here at night. Getting this for Hubby- I LOVE mine.
Such a gentle warmth it feels really healing and can't feel/see wires.
I'm a 'hot' sleeper but this causes no night sweats or discomfort so glad I got it.
Who needs color choices this is an awesome product long may it 'live'!

The reason I chose this one is because of its being safer and low-volts. I used it last night and the blanket is soooo comfy even w/out heat...but with heat oh it was so nice to get into a warm bed. Really you don't need a blanket to get any warmer than this. BTW- I have 5 cats. The warmth lulls them to sleep
they give it 5 stars and so do I. Nice comfy blanket & don't feel any wires or hard bumps in blanket. I really research any 'major purchase' and settled on this and glad I did.

If this is the Perfect Fit blanket that I have (I think they changed the number), it is the best blanket ever. I dare anyone to feel the wires...it never gets too hot either.....
