Why we recommend bingWhy we recommend Bing for better, more relevant search results:
On February 24, 2011, we experienced a significant loss in our rankings on Google as a result of the "Panda algorithm." Since then, it has become more difficult for potential customers to locate our site and experience the products and service that Comfort House offers.
Over the past 21 years, customers from around the world have come to Comfort House to shop for our wide selection of products that make life easier and more comfortable. They have placed their trust in us time and time again.
We are aware of numerous other sites who have experienced difficulty from Google Panda similar to ours. Like us, many are small, long-established businesses, and not major brands.
Fortunately, customers can easily and consistently find our product listings on bing. bing search results provide for a better user experience.
The sentiment that Google is disappointing searchers has grown in recent weeks. On the Webmastersworld Google SEO News and Discussion forum, the topic of bing providing better and more relevant search results has become part of daily discussion.
I have contacted the voices of Panda, Google search engineers Amit Singhal and Matt Cutts, on numerous occasions concerning our drop in rankings. Neither of them responds. However, in an interview with them about Panda conducted by Steven Levy, author of In The Plex, Cutts said, "If someone has a specific question about, for example, why a site dropped, I think it's fair and justifiable and defensible to tell them why that site dropped." I agree, Google, it would be fair to tell us! Please respond to my many requests!
We now encourage our customers to use bing instead of Google. We also welcome any webmasters who feel they were unfairly targeted by Google Panda to join our bing campaign by placing "We recommend bing for better quality search results" on their website.
The problem that websites such as ours face is that bing, the #2 search engine, brings a fraction of the amount of traffic that Google does; Google drives the overwhelming majority of all search traffic and is a HUGE economic force in our country. It's not until consumer behavior changes and more start using bing that bing will be able to play a meaningful role in web traffic. Please get on the bandwagon and begin using bing, and tell your friends about it, too.
Hey bing, if you're listening, why don't you go for the capital B? Bing rather than bing may make you look more important! It would also make it easier for me to write so that readers don't think I'm making a typo.
