Questions about Size & Fit for SureFit Slipcovers

Loose Pillows - - Slipcovers slip over loose pillows; your furniture will no longer have a "loose pillow" look. You may have to adjust the pillows by overlapping them or removing a pillow or two.

Daily Care - - Because our slipcovers are ready made (not custom made), the fabric on the seat cushions needs to be adjusted after several seatings. You will want to straighten and smooth your slipcover a little every day, just as you would straighten your bed covers each morning.

What sizes are available?
Sure Fit slipcovers are available in 3 sizes: Chair, Loveseat and Sofa. The unique 1-piece design with elastic in all the right places allows the cover to fit many types and sizes of furniture. To choose a size, determine how many people can be comfortably seated on your furniture. If your furniture seats 1 person, we recommend a Chair size. If your furniture seats 2-3 people, we recommend a Loveseat size. If your furniture seats 3 or more people, we recommend a Sofa size. If you are measuring your furniture, measure from arm-to-arm and choose the correct size from the chart above.

What is the depth of the 1-piece slipcover?
The depth of the slipcover is 114" from the bottom of the front ruffle to the bottom of the back ruffle. Please be sure to measure your furniture at the highest point to ensure a proper fit.

What types of furniture CANNOT be covered with Sure Fit Ready Made slipcovers?
As a rule, Sure Fit slipcovers DO NOT fit chaises, most sectionals, sofas with wing backs, and loveseats or sofas with built-in recliners.

Will slipcovers fit furniture with loose back pillows?
As long as your furniture measurements fall within the requirements above, simply slip your cover right over the furniture and the pillows. You may have to adjust the pillows by overlapping them or removing a pillow or two depending on the look you want to achieve.

Will slipcovers fit chairs that are smaller than 32"?
Not recommended.

Will slipcovers fit a large/oversized chair?
Possibly. Our suggestion for a large/oversized chair is to use the loveseat size slipcover. The cover will be large but the more you tuck, the better it will stay in place.

Will slipcovers fit an oversized sofa?
No. Maximum sofa size is 96" long.

Will slipcovers fit furniture with no arms?
No.

Will slipcovers fit sofa beds?
When closed, sofa beds are just like regular sofas. Simply choose the correct size. You must remove the cover to open the sofa bed.

Can I use slipcovers on leather furniture?
You can cover your leather sofa seat with foam batting underneath the slipcover to prevent the cover from sliding.

What if my furniture has high arms?
Our slipcovers are designed to fit both high and low arms.

Will slipcovers fit furniture with wooden arms?
Yes, BUT you will have to wrap inexpensive polyester batting from a craft store on the arms to pad them before you put the cover on.

Will slipcovers fit Camel Back furniture?
Sure Fit Ready Made Slipcovers will fit camel back furniture under these conditions: the height measurement from the front of the sofa on the floor over the seat, up and over the back, and down to the floor again should measure 114" or less at the highest point.

Do these covers really stay in place?
Yes. They stay on your furniture until you decide to take them off. But they are NOT reupholstery or custom-fitted covers. The fabric on the seat cushions needs to be adjusted after several seatings. You will want to straighten your slipcover out a little every day, just as you would straighten your bed covers each morning. You do not have to remove the slipcover; just retuck and smooth the fabric.

Are Sure Fit slipcovers hard to put on?
Not at all. Each slipcover comes with helpful styling hints and a step-by-step instruction sheet with full-color pictures.

Do the slipcovers shrink when they are washed?
All slipcovers will have a small amount of shrinkage during the first few washings. The shrinkage amount is less than 5 percent. As long as your furniture falls within the measurements given above, any shrinkage that occurs should not affect the fit of your slipcover.

How do I remove wrinkles?
To avoid wrinkles after laundering, just remove the cover from the dryer as soon as the cycle is complete and immediately place it on the furniture. If your cover gets wrinkled in storage, simply toss it in the dryer with a wet washcloth for ten minutes to remove the wrinkles. If the cover is wrinkled while on your furniture, try spraying a mist of water on the cover with a spray bottle and pressing out the wrinkles with your hand.

What's the best way to tuck in the slipcovers?
Use a wooden spatula or spoon to tuck in excess fabric. Tuck the fabric deep into the crease where the arm meets the back of the furniture and down into where the arm meets the seat cushion.
