Until now all UL-listed electric blankets in North America have operated at 120 volts. This blanket, however, operates with non-hazardous low voltage, providing you with the safest electric blanket ever produced. So turn down your thermostat and still stay toasty warm.
Unlike other warming blankets, new low-voltage blanket includes a power supply box that changes 120 volt AC current (normal household current in North America) into non-hazardous low voltage DC current (similar to a battery) to assure that the blanket never causes you an electric shock.
Power supply box is approximately 8.625"L x 2.5"D x 3"H. The most convenient location for the box is normally on the floor close to the head of the bed. Correct placement of power supply box and bedside control unit.
In addition to being safe, the low-voltage electric blanket is exceptionally soft, cozy, and comfortable. Lightweight, textured microfleece runs from top to toe, and the thin wire they are virtually unnoticeable. And the luxurious micro-fleece blanket is so attractive that you'll want to use it all year. For warm weather use, just store the controls.
- Automatic preheat feature warms to your dial setting in about 15 minutes. Delivers consistent and even heat distribution all night long.
- However, neither your blanket nor bed will feel hot to the touch. Low voltage blankets produce enough heat to keep you warm and comfortable while you sleep. They are not designed to produce enough heat to make the bed hot. We suggest you spend several days experimenting with the settings until you find your personal comfort level.
- Automatic shutoff after 10 hours.
- Luxuriate in gentle, all-over, consistent warmth - - no hot or cold spots.
- Lighted, simple-to-use controller has large, easy-to-read numbers and on/off switch. Settings range is LO, 1-9, HI. Silent, no-click operation; non-slip back.
- Machine wash; tumble dry.
Warming blanket ships with bedside controller, power supply box, 6' power supply cord, 6' controller cord, and 10' controller cord. I'm very glad I did. Softer, thicker, and lighter-weight than any other electric blanket I've had in the past 30 yrs. Contrary to most product comparisons by various firms, e.g. Good Housekeeping, etc, it warms up quickly. A low setting of only 3 is very warm and comfortable. I always have to turn it down to 2 or 1. Both controls and both sides of the blanket (I got a queen) work perfectly. It retains the set heat throughout the night and really does auto-turn off in 10 hrs. I'm thoroughly pleased. How often do you shop at Comfort House: first time This electric blanket is very good for those who might have a chance of it getting wet. It does take a bit to warm up. Try to keep in mind to turn it on prior to wanting to use it. I thought that being plush,it would have been even flufier. It is soft. You can still feel the wires a bit. But know, they are much thinner, and near as noticable as the older type. The only thing I have a complaint abou, is the wire at the foot of the blanket. The one that connects to the unit you plug into the outlet. It sure is scratchy if you rub up against it. As well, not good placement. Most people don't have their outlet located at or near the foot of the bed. Therefore having the cord strone all over the floor. Needing a way to cover it so no accidents happen. Not to mention how bulky that unit is. I would try to fifure better placement of the whole plugging system. The wires are not large and uncomfortable. The fit and feel are just what we had hoped for.The buying and delivery experience were exceptional.
