The KitchenAid planetary mixing action thoroughly blends ingredients all the way to the edge of the bowl without ever rotating the bowl. The rugged, all-metal exterior construction and heavy-duty motor and transmission mean many years of trouble-free dependable service.

The 5-quart stainless steel bowl has a handle for extra-easy lifting. The mixer comes with KitchenAid's NEW burnished PowerKnead™ spiral dough hook, as well as the classic flat beater for mixing cakes, cookies, and batters and the stainless steel wire whip that produces maximum volume when whipping cream or egg whites.

Equipped with a high-performance, professional-level motor, the Commercial 5 series mixer can effectively mix up to 11 cups of all-purpose flour per load. Several additional heavy-duty features are built into this mixer: a seamless bowl with sealed handle and bracket connections, commercial-style motor protection (shuts off when overload is sensed to protect motor), bowl-lift design, and a safety pin.
