I work from home and my office gets very chilly in the winter months. I bought this product to replace the noisy space heater I was previously using to keep my feet warm at my desk. This product is everything I could have hoped for. The heat is more than enough to keep me entirely warm at my desk. The instructions indicate that it should not be used on hardwood or carpeting so I just folded the box that it came in and it provides an ample buffer off of the hardwood floor. There is an unavoidable rubber odor from the heater but it has been gradually subsiding since I received it two weeks ago. Despite the minor odor - this floor mat is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I highly recommend it.
