Historic Water Barometer made from antique thread, cotton, and yarn spools used in an English textile factory in the early 1900's and mouth-blown glass. The base of each barometer has a cotton sticker from 1917.
HOW IT WORKS: The air trapped by the liquid maintains a steady pressure. When high pressure and good weather are approaching, the liquid is pushed down the spout. When low pressure and bad weather approach, greater pressure trapped inside the Weatherball causes the liquid in the spout to rise. (Add food coloring to color the water.)
Like other hand-made items, the actual color and decorations vary from barometer to barometer.
